Overcomer Scholarship
On April 24th,2019 Somebody Cares awarded our eighth annual scholarship award to Mya Vancise. Mya has overcome many difficulties and stayed focused under conditions that no child shouldhave to endure. Through it all she has earned her high school diploma and been accepted to several universities.
In the fall Mya will be attending Valdosta State University, where she will be pursuing a degree in psychology. Mya stated in her scholarship application that “others may out test me, but no one will outwork me”with a work ethic like that we are confident she will succeed at whatever she sets her mind to.
We are so blessed to be able to help this deserving young woman as she begins the next part of her journey.
