On behalf of our Board Members and Volunteers at Somebody Cares St. Augustine (SCSA), we extend our heartfelt thanks to our church partners and donors. We truly could not have met the many needs in our community during 2025 without your faithful support.
First and foremost, we give thanks to our Lord and Savior for His guidance and provision. Through Him—and through you—we were able to serve multiple families in need and provide support to many unaccompanied youth within the St. Johns County School District.
We are also grateful to be partnering with additional faith-based organizations and are excited to expand our reach and impact throughout our community. Looking ahead to 2026, we are thrilled to announce the launch of a new Christian Mentoring Program as part of the SCSA ministry. This initiative will allow us to deepen our investment in the youth of our county and make an even greater, lasting impact.
We look forward to sharing more details soon. Thank you again for standing with us and for being the hands and feet of Christ in our community.
With gratitude and anticipation,
Jeff Rogers, President-SCSA
During the month of December, the Care-PJ team pulled volunteers together to help and support the following:
1. Assisted in moving Ms. Amber to a new apartment. Ms. Amber was so grateful for the volunteers who made time to move her into her new apartment.
2. Partnered with Anchor Faith Church & Redeemer Church in supporting the homeless feeding on Christmas Day at the Armory in downtown St. Augustine. SCSA contributed 150 Backpacks and handed out over 100 Coats in helping to meet the needs of our brothers and sisters in Christ. This would not have been possible without the commitment and contributions from our donors. THANK YOU!
3. SCSA partnered with River City Church for their first time rollout of the “Restoration Store”. See the amazing results below as God’s hands and blessings were ever present. A big ‘Well Done!’ to Cherie Evans and all the volunteers who spent many hours preparing for this successful event. Check out the attached video.
Through Restoration Store—and the generosity of Community Responders, Community Champions, churches, agencies, and local community leaders—we were able to serve:
The full impact of the Restoration Store didn’t stop there.
Because of the overwhelming generosity of our community, we experienced an abundance of resources—so much so that we were able to extend the impact far beyond the day of the event. We were able to bless another organization in South Putnam by helping further serve over 3,000 children in that area through the overflow of donated resources.
Additionally, we were able to provide:
What began as a Christmas initiative became something much bigger—a demonstration of unity, stewardship, and compassion.
Restoration Store brought churches together across denominations, strengthened relationships between agencies and the faith community, and united community leaders around a shared mission—to bring dignity to caregivers and hope to children. It was a powerful picture of what happens when an entire ecosystem moves together with purpose.
Every family served was vetted through trusted agencies. Every gift was chosen with intention. Every interaction was rooted in dignity, compassion, and love. Parents were empowered to shop for their children. Children were given a joyful, safe experience. And volunteers served with excellence and heart.
Restoration Store was truly a community-wide effort. It showed what is possible when people say “yes” together.
Thank you to every volunteer, donor, church, agency partner, and leader who played a role. Your generosity, time, prayers, and leadership made this more than an event—it made it a moment our community will never forget.
Because of you, families were strengthened, hope was restored, and our community experienced unity at its very best.
