About Somebody Cares St. Augustine
WHO WE ARE
Somebody Cares St. Augustine believes it is God’s desire that the residents of St. Augustine see a demonstration, not merely a presentation, of God’s love for them.
As Churches, Ministries, and Businesses work in unity to bring the Good News of the Gospel and the necessities of life to the underprivileged, the love of God is expressed. We can do much more together than we can do apart.
WHY WE SERVE
“You are the light that gives light to the world. A city that is built on a hill cannot be hidden. And people don’t hide a light under a bowl. They put it on a lamp-stand so the light shines for all the people in the house.
In the same way, you should be a light for other people. Live so that they will see the good things you do and will praise your Father in Heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16
MISSION STATEMENT
Somebody Cares St. Augustine exists to provide a demonstration of God’s love through unity in action. To let people know that Somebody Cares because Jesus cares, we God’s people care, and through our combined resources proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to our community.
CAREFEST THE FIRST DECADE:
In the 12 years of the CareFest annual event, 929 projects were completed by over 8,000 volunteers! This translates to over 40,000 community service hours and more than 1.2 million dollars in goods and services!
