August was a busy month both for our Care-Projects team & our SC4Kids team. For those who may ask, “What is Somebody Cares St. Augustine (SCSA) all about”? Well, we now have a short video that can provide just that update. Click on the attached link and watch this brief 3-minute video. Please feel free to share with your family & friends.
CARE-PJ Update
During the month of August, the Care-PJ team partnered on 2 separate projects:
1. We partnered with Anastasia Church in providing much-needed Lattice work at the Homeless Coalition:
2. We partnered with Anastasia 16 Church in providing much-needed work at the home of one of their members.
SC4KIDS Update
With the new school year underway, we had multiple partnerships that needed our support during the month of August:
1. Last year, SCSA adopted the Evelyn Hamblen Center. One of our initiatives is to help keep their school store appropriately stocked to support positive behavior from the students. Please check out the brief video.
2. SCSA also supported the staff at The Evelyn Hamblen Center with new T-shirts at the 2025 welcome back breakfast. The staff very much appreciated the shirts
3. SCSA has been a long-time partner with the “Shoes of Hope” ministry. This wonderful ministry provides much-needed shoes to children in need as they start the new school year. Over 150 children had their feet washed, and each child was provided with a new pair of shoes. What a Blessing! Please check out the attached video and pictures.
